4A Games

4A Games is a game studio founded in Kyiv, Ukraine, in 2005 by game industry veterans. It moved its headquarters to Malta in 2014, when more than 50 team members and their families relocated. Wikipedia says Saber Interactive owned it from 2020 and Embracer Group has owned it since 2024.

It makes immersive, atmospheric first-person games with strong stories and realistic graphics: the Metro series (Metro 2033, Metro: Last Light, Metro Redux, Metro Exodus), the VR shooter Arktika.1 and a new unannounced IP. Games run on its proprietary 4A Games Engine.

4A does not publish a headcount on its site; Wikipedia gives 200+ employees in 2025. Its offices are in Malta and Ukraine, and its careers page listed 29 open roles in October 2026, mostly in art, plus programming, game design and animation.
