Allegro

Allegro was founded in 1999 in Poznań by the Dutch entrepreneur Arjan Bakker as an online auction site, and grew into Poland's largest e-commerce marketplace. It is headquartered in Poznań; its parent, Allegro.eu, has been listed on the Warsaw Stock Exchange since 2020.

Besides the marketplace it runs the Ceneo price comparison site, eBilet, the Allegro Pay fintech and its own delivery network of One Box parcel lockers. In 2022 it bought Mall Group to expand into Czechia, Slovakia and Hungary.

Its engineering community, Allegro Tech, publishes a blog, a podcast and a tech radar, runs meetups and maintains more than a hundred open-source repositories.
