Kaspi.kz goes back to 2002, when Vyacheslav Kim founded Kaspi after buying the privatized Caspian Bank. Mikheil Lomtadze joined management in 2007 and, with Kim, turned it into a fintech company. Baring Vostok took a stake in 2006. Shares were listed in Kazakhstan and on the Astana International Exchange in October 2020 and on Nasdaq in January 2024. The registered office is in Almaty.

It runs a consumer ecosystem in Kazakhstan with three platforms, Payments, Marketplace and Fintech, delivered through one mobile app, the Kaspi app. Products include Kaspi Pay, Kaspi Shop, Kaspi Kassa, the free cash register service for merchants, and Kaspi Bank.

The pages I could open do not state a headcount. Data aggregators show about 7,800 full-time employees, which is an unverified estimate. The only office confirmed from the company's annual report is the head office in Almaty.
