Про компанію
Plaid was founded by Zach Perret and William Hockey (2012 per Wikipedia's history section, May 2013 in its infobox) and is headquartered in San Francisco, California. It is privately held: a April 2025 strategic sale valued it at $6.1 billion and a February 2026 employee share sale at $8 billion, according to Wikipedia. Visa's $5.3 billion acquisition offer of January 2020 was abandoned after a US Department of Justice lawsuit.
It builds the network that connects apps to bank accounts. Its products include Link, Auth, Transactions, Balance, Identity, Assets, Investments, Income, Transfer and payment initiation. Plaid's website says it supports more than 12,000 financial institutions and that more than 9,000 fintechs are built on it.
Plaid's company page says it has 900+ team members and 6 offices around the world; Wikipedia, citing Forbes, gave 1,200 employees without a year. Its careers page lists San Francisco, New York City, Seattle, London, Raleigh and Washington DC, plus remote roles in the United States.
