About the event
Claude Community Ambassador Yamamoto Nakamoto (中本 大和) writes: In private companies, using AI agents is becoming routine not only for regular work and schedule management but also for drafting management policies, proposal materials and application documents. Inside government offices, however, many people are struggling in silence because it is not shared whether such tools can be used at all under their systems, or how far their use is allowed.
This meetup, themed "How can agentic AI be used inside government?", starts from zero. It covers how government offices are organised and the basics of AI, what former municipal staff saw when working with AI agents, and the technical and security barriers seen by engineers who know municipal core systems.
It is not a showcase of people who have already achieved results. Participants bring their current position, stumbling points and questions, and work through them together, step by step. Staff from IT departments and business departments, and people from the public and private sectors, are all welcome.
Who it is for
- Staff of national and local government (prefectures, cities, towns and villages). Staff outside IT departments are welcome.
- Companies that work with local governments, already propose AI to them, or plan to.
- People who know little about AI agents or municipal systems and want to learn from the beginning.
- Participants from outside Sapporo across Hokkaido are welcome.

Talk details
Understanding "introducing AI agents into local government" from zero by Yamato Nakamoto (Claude Community Ambassador)
A general-audience explanation, given by someone who has never belonged to an IT department, of how government networks are divided (three layers of protection) and of the government cloud. Once it is clear where AI sits within the "building" of a government office, the two following talks become much easier to follow.
Lightning talk call for speakers
Speak for 3 to 5 minutes about the current position of your municipality or company. No results are needed. "We built an agent but hit a wall", "this is our plan for next year" and "what can this actually do?" are the most valuable things to share here. Any theme is fine.
Register for the event, then send your title and affiliation via "Contact host" on Luma. About 5 speakers will be chosen, first come first served and subject to adjustment.
