Our Montreal office set up the first automated bike-sharing system in America, a system since deployed in many cities around the world (London, Montreal, New York and San Francisco, to name just a few). These are also some of the largest bike-sharing systems in the world!

The Role

The Lyft team in Montreal is looking for an Automated Testing Software Engineer to join its LUS software team. Our goal is to continue developing our bike-station software and our payment services software, improve their reliability and security, evolve their software architecture, and improve our interface and user experience.

Technical interviews and interactions with the company's other offices will be conducted in English, but the work environment in Montreal is bilingual.

Responsibilities

• Set up and maintain the automated test framework for the payment service.
• Leverage the existing automated test framework for kiosks to improve current test coverage.
• Take part, with the rest of the team, in the design and architecture of the various test frameworks.
• Occasionally perform manual testing of the payment service.
• Write well-designed, well-tested, readable and maintainable code.
• Have a good understanding of, and the ability to explain, the trade-offs made in decisions.
• Unblock, support, communicate effectively and build buy-in from different teams to achieve the desired results.

Experience

• BSc or MSc in computer engineering, computer science, a related field, or relevant professional experience.
• 2+ years of engineering experience as an automated test developer or other relevant experience.
• Experience with Python.
• Experience with the pytest framework.
• Experience with Java is an asset.
• Experience with payment services and PSPs is an asset.
• Experience with RESTful APIs is an asset.
• Experience with relational databases and SQL is an asset.
• Experience with Elasticsearch is an asset.
• Experience with embedded systems is an asset.
• Must be fluent in spoken and written English and have a working knowledge of French.

This is an in-office position on a hybrid schedule: team members must work in the office 3 days a week, on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. In addition, hybrid positions offer the flexibility to work from anywhere for up to 4 weeks per year. #Hybrid

Pay

The expected base salary range for this position in the Montreal area is CAD $72,000 - CAD 90,000. Salary ranges depend on various factors, including qualifications, experience and geographic location. The range does not include equity offers, bonuses or potential benefits.
