Code of conduct

IT Community is a community of people who work in IT and of the companies that hire them. This code is about how we treat each other: in profiles, conversations, vacancies and at events. It adds to the Terms of use; it does not replace them.

Respect people

Argue with ideas, not with people. Criticise the code, the approach or the vacancy, never the person.

Keep to the point

A personal request is for getting to know someone and talking, not for advertising. A vacancy is offered with «Offer a vacancy», an event with «Invite to an event»: that way the person sees exactly what is offered and decides for themselves.

Be honest

Respect other people’s privacy

For companies and recruiters

At events

If something goes wrong

If you see a profile, vacancy, event or message that crosses the line, report it at the foot of the page or from the conversation. The author does not learn who sent the report.

A moderator reviews every report. Depending on the breach we may warn, remove the content, limit features or block the account. After two «This is an ad» reports in a month personal requests are switched off for 30 days, and repeated breaches block the account.

If you disagree with a decision, write to us and we will review it again.
