About

Airbus traces its roots to 1970 and the Airbus Industrie consortium. In 2000 Aerospatiale-Matra, DASA and CASA merged into EADS, which became Airbus Group in 2014 and Airbus SE in April 2017 after merging with Airbus SAS. Airbus SE is registered in Leiden, the Netherlands, with its main office in Blagnac near Toulouse, France, and its shares trade under the symbol AIR.

It builds commercial aircraft (A220, A320neo family, A330neo, A350), helicopters and defence and space systems. Its digital work is described on its innovation pages as Industry 4.0, artificial intelligence, quantum technologies, digital design, manufacturing and services, advanced analytics and connectivity. Cybersecurity sits with Airbus Cybersecurity and the subsidiary Airbus Protect, and customers use the AirbusWorld portals.

Airbus had 165,294 employees at 31 December 2025 (156,921 a year earlier), according to its FY 2025 results release. It reports more than 50,000 employees in France, with main sites in Toulouse, Marignane and Paris. No dedicated software or IT centres are named on the pages we opened, though its careers page lists digital roles such as AI solutions engineering and database administration.
