Booking.com was founded in 1996 in Amsterdam as a small Dutch start-up, Bookings.nl, and is still headquartered there. Since 2005 it has been part of what is now Booking Holdings, alongside Priceline, Agoda, Kayak and OpenTable.

It is one of the world's largest travel platforms: hotels, homes and apartments, flights, car rentals and attractions, available in more than 40 languages.

Booking.com is famous for its experimentation culture - thousands of A/B tests run on the site at any time, and almost every change ships as one. Its technology teams are centred in Amsterdam, with customer and partner offices around the world.
