About
Capgemini was founded in Grenoble in 1967 by Serge Kampf as Sogeti and took the Capgemini name after buying CAP and Gemini Computer Systems in 1975. It is headquartered in Paris and listed on Euronext Paris, where it is part of the CAC 40.
It is a consulting and technology services group: strategy and design through Capgemini Invent, software and cloud engineering, data and AI, and managed services, with Capgemini Engineering (the former Altran, bought in 2020) for product and R&D engineering and Sogeti for testing and local IT services. In 2025 it bought WNS to add AI-led business operations. Its 2025 revenue was 22.5 billion euros.
According to its results for the first half of 2026, Capgemini had 417,600 people in more than 50 countries, about two thirds of them in offshore centres. India is its largest base, and France, Germany, Italy, Spain, the UK, Poland, Portugal, Morocco, Mexico, Brazil and China host large engineering sites.
