Coupang

Coupang was founded in 2010 by Bom Kim, who still leads it as chairman and CEO. It is headquartered in Seattle, runs its largest business in South Korea and has been listed on the New York Stock Exchange since 2021.

It built its own fulfilment and last-mile network to deliver orders overnight or the same day through Rocket Delivery, and adds the Rocket WOW membership, Coupang Eats food delivery, Coupang Play streaming, Coupang Pay and a growing business in Taiwan. In 2024 it took over the luxury fashion marketplace Farfetch.

According to its 2025 annual report, Coupang had about 108,000 employees, most of them in Korea. Its technology teams work in Seoul, Seattle and Mountain View and in Beijing, Shanghai, Taipei, Singapore, Bengaluru, Hyderabad and Tokyo, building the systems behind search, ordering, fulfilment and logistics.
