About

DigitalOcean was founded in 2012, joined the Techstars accelerator and launched with the Droplet, a virtual machine. It is headquartered in Broomfield, Colorado, and its shares trade on the New York Stock Exchange as DOCN.

It sells cloud infrastructure to developers and small businesses: Droplets and GPU Droplets, managed Kubernetes, managed databases, Spaces object storage, block storage and App Platform. It also owns Cloudways, Paperspace and Nimbella from earlier acquisitions. It leases data centers in the United States, Australia, Canada, Germany, India, the Netherlands, Singapore and the UK.

The annual report counts 1,462 employees at 31 December 2025, 848 of them outside the United States. DigitalOcean is remote-first, with offices in Seattle, Broomfield, Hyderabad and Karachi, and job ads name Kubernetes, Python, Go, Terraform, Docker, MySQL and PostgreSQL.
