dLocal

dLocal was founded in Montevideo in 2016 and has been listed on Nasdaq since 2021. Its operational headquarters are in Montevideo, and the holding company is incorporated in the Cayman Islands.

It lets global merchants take and send money in emerging markets through one API: pay-ins with more than 1,000 local payment methods, from cards and bank transfers to cash and wallets, payouts to sellers, drivers and creators, dLocal for Platforms for marketplaces, the dMoRe merchant-of-record service and the dLocal Defense fraud tools. It works across more than 40 countries in Latin America, Africa, the Middle East and Asia, for merchants in retail, streaming, ride-hailing, SaaS, travel and gaming.

According to its annual report for 2025, dLocal had 1,274 full-time equivalents, employees and contractors together, at the end of the year, 458 of them in technology and development. 832 work in the Americas, 329 in Europe, the Middle East and Africa and 113 in Asia-Pacific; its engineering is centred in Montevideo, and it has offices in Buenos Aires, São Paulo, Mexico City, London, Madrid, Nairobi, Lagos, Riyadh, Mumbai, Singapore, Shanghai and other cities.
