Freshworks

Freshworks started in 2010 in Chennai as Freshdesk, a help desk product, and took the Freshworks name in 2017 as it added more products. It is headquartered in San Mateo, California, and has been listed on Nasdaq since 2021.

It builds cloud software for customer and employee service: Freshservice for IT service management, with Device42 for IT asset discovery and FireHydrant for incident management, and the Freshdesk suite for customer support, with Freshchat, Freshcaller, Freshsales and Freshmarketer. Its Freddy AI agents, copilot and insights run across these products.

According to its annual report for 2025, Freshworks had about 4,500 full-time employees at the end of the year, most of them in India, where its engineering, product design, support and sales teams work from Chennai, Bengaluru and Hyderabad. It has further offices in Denver, Bellevue and Boston, London, Paris, Berlin, Utrecht and Sydney.
