Frogwares

Frogwares was created in 2000 and describes itself as an independent game development studio based in Ukraine and Ireland. It is privately held, and the studio relocated its staff out of Ukraine in 2022 after the Russian invasion with the help of an Epic MegaGrant.

It is behind the Sherlock Holmes series, including Crimes and Punishments, The Devil's Daughter, Chapter One and The Awakened (2023), and the Lovecraftian detective game The Sinking City (2019). A sequel, The Sinking City 2, was announced in 2024. The studio owns the trademarks for Sherlock Holmes and The Sinking City in the software categories and says its games sold over 8 million units in the last decade.

Frogwares does not publish a headcount. Wikipedia reports more than 80 people in 2018. Its job ads ask for Unreal Engine 5 skills, so its current games are built on that engine.
