About

Grafana Labs grew out of Grafana, an open source dashboarding tool that Torkel Odegaard created in December 2013. It was co-founded by Raj Dutt (CEO), Torkel Odegaard and Anthony Wood, and the company describes itself as 100% fully remote, so it publishes no headquarters.

It builds an observability platform around Grafana Cloud, a managed service with an AI assistant, application and Kubernetes observability, synthetic monitoring, incident response and management, and k6 performance testing. Its open source projects include Grafana, Loki, Mimir, Tempo, Pyroscope, Faro, Beyla and Alloy. The company reports more than 10,000 customers.

Grafana Labs says it has more than 1,600 employees in over 40 countries, working remotely, with a co-working allowance instead of offices. Its open roles are spread across the US, Canada and European countries, and engineering ads name Go, TypeScript, React, Kubernetes, Terraform and Python.
