About

Grammarly was founded in 2009 in Kyiv by Alex Shevchenko, Max Lytvyn and Dmytro Lider and is headquartered in San Francisco. Its AI writing assistant checks and improves text in the browser, on desktop and in thousands of apps.

After acquiring the document platform Coda and the Superhuman email client, the company renamed itself Superhuman in 2025; Grammarly lives on as its best-known product, alongside Coda and Superhuman Mail.

Its teams work from San Francisco, Kyiv, Berlin, Warsaw, Vancouver, Porto, New York, Seattle and Mountain View, and much of the engineering has roots in Ukraine.
