Huawei

Huawei was founded in 1987 and is headquartered at Huawei Base in Shenzhen, China. According to its corporate information page, it is 100% privately owned by its employees and is not listed on a stock exchange.

It builds telecom network equipment, IT products and solutions, cloud services, digital power products, intelligent vehicle solutions and smart devices. Its business groups are Consumer, Enterprise, Carrier, Huawei Cloud, Digital Power and Intelligent Automotive Solution. It spent CNY 192.3 billion on R&D in 2025, 21.8% of revenue, and holds about 165,000 active patents.

According to its corporate information page, Huawei has about 213,000 employees and operates in more than 170 countries and regions. Its 2025 annual report states that 114,000 employees, about 53.7%, worked in R&D on December 31, 2025. Huawei does not name its individual R&D centres on the pages checked, so only the Shenzhen headquarters is listed here.
