About

Palantir Technologies was founded in 2003 by Peter Thiel, Alex Karp, Stephen Cohen, Joe Lonsdale and Nathan Gettings, and Karp has led it as CEO from the start. It went public on the New York Stock Exchange in 2020 and moved its listing to Nasdaq in 2024; its annual report for 2025 gives Aventura, Florida as its principal executive office, after years in Denver.

It builds four software platforms around a shared Ontology of an organization's data and decisions: Gotham for defence and intelligence work, Foundry for commercial and civil operations, Apollo for continuous delivery to any environment, and AIP for bringing large language models into operational work. In 2025 it had 954 customers and $4.5 billion in revenue, 54% of it from government customers.

Palantir had 4,429 full-time employees at the end of 2025, 28% of them outside the United States, with principal offices in Denver, Palo Alto, New York, Washington, D.C. and London. Its engineers often work on site with customers as forward deployed engineers; the platforms are built largely in Java and TypeScript on Kubernetes, and the company open-sources tools such as Blueprint, its React UI toolkit.
