Paradox Interactive

Paradox Interactive began in 1999 as the games division of Target Games and became an independent company in 2004. It is headquartered in Stockholm and has been listed on Nasdaq Stockholm under the ticker PDX since 2016. The largest shareholders are WesterInvest, Investment AB Spiltan and Tencent.

It develops and publishes strategy and management games for PC and consoles: the grand strategy series Europa Universalis, Crusader Kings, Victoria, Hearts of Iron and Stellaris, plus Cities: Skylines and the World of Darkness tabletop role-playing rights. Its own site cites more than five million monthly active users.

Wikipedia gives 663 employees as of December 2025. Its site speaks of seven studios in six countries, including Paradox Development Studio in Stockholm, Paradox Tinto in Sitges, Triumph Studios in Delft, Iceflake Studios in Tampere and Haemimont Games in Sofia.
