Razorpay

Razorpay was founded by IIT Roorkee alumni; press profiles name Harshil Mathur and Shashank Kumar as founders and date the start to 2014 (one aggregator says 2013). It is a private company headquartered in Bengaluru, Karnataka, and one profile puts the total raised at about 816 million US dollars.

It builds payments and business banking for companies in India: the Payment Gateway and Payment Aggregator, Payment Links, UPI Payments, Magic Checkout, Subscriptions, Razorpay POS, international payments, RazorpayX (current accounts, payroll, payouts, corporate cards) and Razorpay Capital for digital lending.

Razorpay does not publish a headcount on its site. Third-party profiles from 2026 give figures between 3,100 and 3,500, so treat about 3,000 as an estimate. Its careers board listed 26 openings in October 2026, in Bengaluru, Chennai, Mumbai, Lucknow, Singapore and Malaysia.
