About

Robinhood was founded on 18 April 2013 by Vlad Tenev and Baiju Bhatt, two Stanford classmates, and is headquartered at 85 Willow Road in Menlo Park, California. It went public on 29 July 2021 on Nasdaq under the ticker HOOD and is now an S&P 500 component, according to Wikipedia.

It builds a retail investing and money platform: trading in stocks, ETFs, options, futures, prediction markets and crypto, Robinhood Gold, retirement and custodial accounts, Strategies, the Robinhood Cash Card and credit cards, and Robinhood Legend for active traders. It acquired the crypto exchange Bitstamp and the wealth platform TradePMR in 2025. Wikipedia reports more than 27 million funded customers and $307 billion in platform assets.

Robinhood's own pages publish no headcount; Wikipedia gives about 2,900 employees in 2025. Its careers page lists offices in Menlo Park, New York, Denver, Washington DC, Westlake, Chicago, Lake Mary, Clearwater, Gainesville, Bellevue, Vilnius, London, Singapore, Toronto, and Bitstamp sites in Ljubljana, Maribor and Luxembourg.
