About

Samsung Electronics was founded in 1969 as part of the Samsung Group and is headquartered in Suwon, South Korea.

It is the world's largest maker of memory chips - DRAM and NAND flash - and also designs Exynos processors and makes chips for others in its foundry. On the consumer side it builds Galaxy smartphones, tablets and watches, TVs and home appliances, all connected through SmartThings.

Software is a large part of the work: One UI on top of Android, Tizen for TVs, Knox security and Bixby. Samsung Research and its R&D institutes employ engineers in Korea, India, Poland, Ukraine, the United States and many other countries.
