Supabase

Supabase is an open source Postgres development platform that describes itself as born remote. It says it has raised $1 billion in funding from investors including Accel, Y Combinator, Coatue and GIC, among them an $80 million Series B led by Felicis. Its pages do not state a founding year or headquarters.

It builds a backend on top of Postgres: a managed Database, Auth, Storage, Realtime, Edge Functions, Vector and Cron, with automatic REST APIs. Its open source repository has more than 111,000 GitHub stars, and open roles mention projects such as Multigres, OrioleDB and database branching.

According to its careers page in 2026, Supabase has 350 or more team members in over 60 countries, plus more than 1,500 community contributors. It has no offices: the team is fully remote and meets in person once a year.
