About

Xiaomi was founded in Beijing on 6 April 2010 by Lei Jun together with six co-founders, including Lin Bin, Zhou Guangping and Hong Feng. It is headquartered in Beijing and has been listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange (1810) since June 2018, when its IPO raised 4.72 billion US dollars. It is a Hang Seng Index component.

It builds consumer electronics and the software around them: Xiaomi, Redmi and POCO smartphones, tablets and laptops, televisions, wearables, smart home and IoT devices, the HyperOS operating system and, through Xiaomi Auto, electric vehicles built in a Beijing factory. A subsidiary in Zhuhai designs semiconductors.

According to Wikipedia, citing company data, Xiaomi had 43,688 full-time equivalent employees in 2024. Its careers site lists openings for experienced hires and interns. Xiaomi also has an international headquarters in Singapore (announced 2014) and manufacturing plants in India and Pakistan.
