About
Zapier began in 2011 as a side project in Columbia, Missouri, started by Wade Foster, Bryan Helmig and Mike Knoop, and launched in 2012 through Y Combinator. It lists San Francisco as its official headquarters but has no work offices and has been fully remote since it was founded. It is privately held and became profitable in 2014.
It builds workflow automation: Zaps that connect apps with a trigger and actions, across more than 9,000 integrated apps. Related products include Zapier Tables, Interfaces, Canvas, Copilot for building workflows from plain language, a developer platform for custom connectors and an MCP integration for AI tools.
Wikipedia reports about 700 employees in nearly forty countries in 2022 and about 730 in 2025; Zapier's own pages publish no headcount. Its jobs page advertises work from anywhere.
