About the event
We are holding a hackathon in Osaka where participants turn ideas into working products using the new features announced at OpenAI DevDay.
Teams of 2 to 4 people develop with Codex CLI / Codex App. At the end of the event, teams publish the products they built and share their results through demos.
We welcome people who want to try the features announced at DevDay in real development, people who want to see a single product through to completion with Codex, and people who want to build things together with developers from the Kansai region.
Who this is for
- Developers who want to try the features announced at DevDay in actual development
- Developers who want to work on development using Codex
- People who want to shape an idea into a product in a team and take it all the way to a demo presentation
- People who want to find fellow developers to build with in Osaka and the Kansai region
Development rules
- Development must use Codex CLI / Codex App. Other development agents, and use of OpenAI models through tools such as Cursor or Devin, are not eligible.
- Deliverables must be published in a form accessible on the web. Preparing your deployment target in advance, such as Cloudflare Workers or Vercel, will make things smoother.
- Development takes place on the day of the event. Preparation beforehand is limited to a new prototype that has not been made public, for example on social media. Finished works cannot be brought in.
- Researching the DevDay announcements and setting up your development environment beforehand is allowed.
Team formation
Participate in teams of 2 to 4 people. Forming a team in advance is recommended. A team formation time is also planned on the day.
Schedule of the day
After check-in, the purpose and rules of the event are explained and teams are formed. Teams then develop their products and publish their deliverables. The event proceeds with demo presentations, judging and announcement of results, and finishes with a networking party for participants.
The detailed timetable, judging method and prizes will be announced once they are decided.
What to bring and prepare
- A development laptop and charger
- An environment where Codex CLI or Codex App can be used
- An account and deployment environment for publishing your deliverable
