Terms of Service
IT Community is a platform where IT specialists keep professional profiles and companies publish vacancies and events. These terms describe how to use it, what is and is not allowed, and what we promise in return.
Who we are and when these terms apply
IT Community is run by Oleksii Nikitenko, sole proprietor (jednoosobowa działalność gospodarcza), Poland. In this text, «we».
These terms apply when you open the platform, create an account or use any of its features. By signing up you accept them. If you do not agree, please do not use the platform.
How we handle your data is described separately, in the Privacy Policy, which is part of these terms.
Who can use it
You can create an account from the age of 16. By signing up you confirm that you are at least 16.
If you register a company or act on its behalf, you confirm that you are authorised to do so.
Your account and its security
Most actions need an account with a confirmed e-mail address. An account belongs to one person: do not share it, and do not create accounts in someone else's name.
You are responsible for your password and for everything done from your account. Use a password you do not use anywhere else. If you think someone has got into your account, change the password and write to us.
Give true information about yourself. Your profile, experience and skills must describe you, not someone else. Register with an address of your own that you keep: we do not accept temporary mailboxes.
Professional profile, candidate card and short card
Your professional profile is your public page: experience, projects, skills, education. You decide whether it is listed in the people catalogue, available by link only, or visible to nobody. A new profile starts out visible only to you.
Some details, such as your e-mail, phone, age or gender, are hidden by default and you switch them on yourself. Profile sections can be hidden too.
The candidate card is what companies see when they search for people. It has three modes:
In anonymous mode a company gets your name and contacts only when you reveal them on a particular application. You can also hide your card from specific companies.
The short card is a small page with your photo, one line and a few links, made to be shared as a link or a QR code. Anyone with the link can see it.
Companies
A company on the platform is its team. A member joins by invitation and confirms a work e-mail. Roles in the team decide who can do what: publish vacancies, handle applications, invite colleagues.
To add a company or take over its page, you send a request with your position and a work e-mail on the company's domain; we confirm the address and check the request by hand before you get access.
When you act in a company, you act on its behalf, and the company is responsible for what its members publish and write. We may verify a company page before it is shown in the catalogue.
A company's page, vacancies, events and conversations belong to the company. When a member leaves the team, they stay with the company.
Vacancies
A vacancy is published on the company's behalf and is moderated before it goes live. It must describe a real job the company is actually hiring for.
Every vacancy states a salary range. Give the real range, not a number chosen to get through a filter.
A vacancy must not ask for or prefer candidates by sex, age, nationality, religion, disability, family status or any other ground on which the law forbids discrimination. Requirements must be about the job: skills, experience, languages, a work permit where one is genuinely needed.
Events and registrations
Events are published by companies, and individual users can also create private events. A public event is moderated before it goes live.
The organiser decides how people get in: open registration, a request the organiser approves, or simply marking yourself as going. When there are no places left you may be put on a waiting list. The organiser sees who registered and can talk to them in conversations.
The organiser is responsible for the event itself: its description, place, time and how it is run. If an event is cancelled or changed, the organiser has to tell the participants. We only provide the tool and are not a party to arrangements between you.
Applications, requests and conversations
An application to a vacancy or a request to join an event opens a conversation with the company or the organiser. The correspondence is kept on the platform so both sides can see its history.
A company or an organiser can also send you a vacancy or an invitation to an event. You decide whether to answer, and you can ask a sender not to propose to you again.
Only the sides of a conversation see it: you and the team of the company or organiser. Company members can keep internal notes on an application, which only they see.
The company alone decides whom to interview and whom to hire. We do not guarantee a reply, an interview or a job.
Your content
The texts, files and images you add remain yours. You allow us to store, display and technically process them (for example, resize images) on the platform in line with the visibility you set. This permission is free of charge, worldwide, and ends when you delete the content or your account, except for what is already part of other people's conversations (see the Privacy Policy).
Only add what you have the right to add: your own texts, your own photos, files you may share. Do not publish another person's personal data without their consent.
What is not allowed
On the platform you may not:
If you find a vulnerability, please write to support@it-community.io instead of using it.
Moderation and reports
We review vacancies and public events before they go live and may remove any content that breaks these terms or the law. You can report a vacancy, an event, a profile, a mistake on a company page or a personal request with the button next to it, or write to support@it-community.io.
One limit is set automatically: if two different people report your personal requests within 30 days, you cannot send new personal requests for 30 days. If it happens again, we review the account.
When we remove your content or restrict your account, we tell you why, unless the law forbids it. If you disagree with a decision, write to us and we will look at it again.
AI features
Some features run on an external artificial intelligence model: filling in a vacancy or an event from a document, «Improve the vacancy», suggesting the first message of an application, a draft note for a vacancy or an event you send to a person, suggesting replies in a conversation, filling in your profile («Highlights», «About») or a company's «Highlights», and filling in your profile from a CV. They only run when you press the corresponding button.
What the AI returns is a suggestion, not a finished text. It can be wrong, leave out something important or make facts up. Check it before you publish or send it: you are responsible for what you publish or send.
What exactly is sent to the model is described in the Privacy Policy.
Advertising
The platform has ad placements: in the vacancy and event feeds and at the side of the page. We place the ads ourselves; everyone sees the same ones and they are not chosen based on your data. Ads are always labelled.
Advertisers are responsible for their products and services. An ad link takes you to a third-party site with its own rules.
Third-party services
Some actions lead to third-party services: signing in with Google or LinkedIn, connecting a Cal.com calendar, a call room on Jitsi Meet, adding an event to Google Calendar, the map, drawn by OpenFreeMap. When you use them, their terms apply as well. We are not responsible for how they work.
Availability and changes to the service
The platform is evolving: features appear, change and go away. We work to keep the service running without interruption but cannot guarantee it: there are updates, outages and maintenance.
If a change affects you significantly, for example a feature you use is going away, we will tell you in advance.
If paid features ever appear, we will show their price and payment terms separately before you buy anything.
Liability
Vacancies, profiles, events and messages are created by users. We do not check every word, and we are not liable for decisions you make based on other people's material, or for arrangements between you and companies or organisers.
To the extent Polish law allows, we are not liable for indirect loss, lost profit or lost opportunities caused by using the platform or by interruptions in its operation.
These limits do not apply to damage caused intentionally or through gross negligence, to harm to life or health, or where the law does not allow liability to be limited. If you are a consumer, the mandatory rights the law gives you remain yours.
Suspension and termination
You can stop using the platform at any time and delete your account in settings or by writing to support@it-community.io. What happens to your data after deletion is described in the Privacy Policy.
We may restrict, suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or the law, or puts other users or the platform at risk. Usually we warn first, but for serious breaches such as fraud, threats or malware we act straight away. We may block an address or a domain used to break these terms: it cannot be used to register again.
We may also shut the platform down as a whole. In that case we will tell you in advance and give you time to take your data.
Changes to these terms
We may change these terms. We will announce material changes on the platform or by e-mail in advance, before they take effect. If you keep using the platform after that, the new terms apply to you. If you do not agree, you can delete your account.
The date of the latest version is shown at the top of the page.
Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by Polish law. If you are a consumer living in another country, the mandatory consumer protection rules of your country still apply.
Please write to us first: most issues are settled by e-mail. If that does not work, disputes go to the competent court in Poland. A consumer may also go to the courts of their own country where the law allows it.
