Spotify now asks family plan members to prove that they live together.
The subscription owner opens a QR code in the app, and the member scans it with their phone's camera. The code refreshes every few seconds, so a screenshot won't help.
The check must be completed within 7 days of the notification. Those who don't make it won't be able to join another family plan or Duo for 12 months.
On Reddit, people are already writing that the code can be shown over a video call.
